Course Overview
The MSHA 24-Hour New Miner Training (Part 48, Subpart B) is required for all new surface miners and surface mining contractors working at non-metal and non-coal mines, including sand, gravel, cement, clay, and other aggregate operations regulated by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). This training prepares individuals to recognize health and safety hazards in the mining environment and equips them with the knowledge to perform work safely and in compliance with MSHA regulations.
This course is a legal requirement before beginning work on a mine site and is designed to meet all training mandates under 30 CFR Part 48, Subpart B.

Overview of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977
Rights and responsibilities of miners and employers
Hazard recognition and accident prevention
Emergency procedures, evacuation plans, and fire warning systems
Introduction to self-rescue and respiratory devices
